He has been invited to review papers for highly recognised journals such as IEEE’s Micro and Communications letters and Elsevier’s Integration VLSI journal. He is a regular reviewer and evaluator of EU backed RTD proposals and projects.

Nestor Evmorfopoulos
Associate Professor, University of Thessaly

Nestor Evmorfopoulos is Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Thessaly, Volos, Greece. He received the B.E., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece. His main research interests are focused on mathematical and computational methods for CAD tools and algorithms for integrated circuit design, with emphasis on large-scale circuit, thermal, electromagnetic and physical simulation. He has published over 100 articles in international journals and conferences, and holds 5 U.S. patents. He has participated in various National and European research projects, and has received funding from companies like Intel, Ansys, Huawei. He has received the “William J. McCalla” Award (by IEEE-CASS/CEDA/EDS and ACM-SIGDA) for the best paper at the International Conference on Computer-Aided Design in 2021 and was nominated for the same award in 2012, while he has also received 2 best paper awards and 3 best paper nominations in other international conferences. In 2020 he received a Fulbright award for conducting research at the University of Minnesota, USA, as a Visiting Scholar, and in 2024 he was appointed General Chair of the IEEE International Conference on Synthesis, Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Methods, and Applications to Circuit Design (SMACD) which was held at the University of Thessaly. He serves at the Scientific Committee of the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD) since 2022 and the Scientific Committee of the IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference (DAC) since 2024, and has a constant collaboration with the research team of CAD/EDA tools of the University of Minnesota, USA.
